COMMENTS POLICY

Its come to my attention that I need to make known the very strict rules by which my comments section shall adhere:

First, comment threads exist for the sole purpose of entertaining Echotig.

Second, by the ability vested in Echotig by Haloscan, I, Echotig, can and will modify, edit or just plain make up any comments I choose.

Finally, I shall ban anyone I see fit to be banned, based on nothing more than my Whim. And if I get called a Fascist or a Nazi, well...that's just a Bonus!

60 Days

Well, I am still reeling from the 60 day sentence a Judge in Vermont gave a Child Molester. It sickened me to hear that one, this "Judge" doesn't believe in punishment, and two, that he believes sex offenders can be rehabilitated. It disturbs me that he seemed more concerned with an ADMITTED Child Rapist's "rehabilitation" than the Sickening, Horrific Injustice of said Molester's acts upon a child of 7 years old. If this" Judge" so believes in rehabilitation, perhaps he is is in the WRONG line of work. What about this child? What about HER rehabilitation? After his 60 days this Child Rapist is a free man. (Even though he raped her for 4 years.) But that little girl will never be free of what that Child Rapist did to her soul. She will never be free from the HORROR of a "Judge" making light of the most undignified thing a human can do to another human.

60 days.

My heart and prayers go to that little girl, that she can someday feel safe. That she can someday have a normal relationship with a man. That she doesn't go through life thinking all men are as evil as these two. That she isn't filled with hate and distrust. That she never hates herself. That she never sinks into a depression so deep that she gives up on life. That she Survives, and sees herself as a Survivor, not a Victim. I pray that she still believes in God after all this.

You think that will happen in 60 days?

Here's a letter from Mark Twain to a newspaper Editor. I thought it was fitting.

My Dear Sir:

But you are proceeding upon the superstition that Moral Courage and a Hankering to Learn the Truth are ingredients in the human being's makeup. Your premises being wild and foolish, you naturally and properly get wild and foolish results. If you will now reform, and in future proceed upon the sane and unchallengeable hypothesis that those two ingredients are on vacation in our race, and have been from the start, you will be able to account for some things which seem to puzzle you now.
